Should I take a pregnancy test?

I've been having stringy bloody discharge(sorry for tmi) and a heavy feeling in my pelvic area and some cramps that are coming and going, only on the left side, spotting only when I wipe. I'm on birth control, but I don't think it's breakthrough bleeding... Not close to being my free week for my period...
