When to start birth control?

Hey ladies! I'm 6 weeks post csection! This is baby number 2 and csection number 2! I was wondering when everyone decided to start taking birth control? I got my script for the pill and was wondering if I should start taking it right away or give my body some more recovery time before throwing off my hormones again? Thoughts please! :)

I got my mirena put in 6 weeks after birth. You can start right away unless your doctor said otherwise.

Im 3 1/2 months pp and had a csection. I got my Nexplanon put in 6 weeks pp, I started having sex 2 weeks pp and I knew I needed to get on birth control before I ended up pregnant again!

My doctor said he wants me to start the pill immediately but then I'll be switching to an iud at 8 weeks pp

Hi! I'm 2 weeks postpartum. Just had my second son and it was also my second c section. My husband and I decided to start having sex around 8 days pp and it was unprotected so I knew I wanted to start birth control right away. I am exclusively breastfeeding so there are only a few options I could choose from when it came down to birth control. I had my 2 week pp doctor appointment on Monday and I asked my doctor when I could start birth control . We decide that the mini pill was the best option for me and she told me I could start taking it right away. I just took my second pill :)
