Toddler with adhd?

We are about to start behavioral therapy for my daughter who just turned 3. We (our primary doctor and family) believe my daughter may have adhd with anger issues. I would love some advice from other moms on how you have dealt with your child, how you knew your child had adhd, any natural remedies, and any other advice you feel would help us???

First, most Dr's will not diagnose so very young. I'm surprised they went there when she only just turned 3.

My oldest just turned 5. My husband has adult add. My brother has Tourette's and ADHD. My younger brother has add. My son has been showing signs since he was 2.5. It's not just about hyperactivity. It's a lot more than that.

We've seen a child psychologist and continue to do so. My son has not been officially diognosed yet, although he is showing all signs. We will wait one more year before officially labeling him. With my son logical discussions work best, eye contact, consequences, labeling emotions, and understanding that his brain simply doesn't operate like my own. He's brilliant and sensitive, but he has definitely some difficulties. It's just that everything for him is the extreme so he can be very difficult to deal with.

If recommend you read Driven to Distraction. You can get it on Amazon used for literally a penny plus shipping. It's a wonderful book about add/ADHD and understanding everything that it's about. Understanding why hey may have anger issues, self esteem problems, and see the world differently. I'd highly recommend it. I'd also tread carefully not to diognose too young and get a second opinion if necessary.

Try and recognize that if she is diagnosed, she's not defective. There are many gifts to an add/ADHD child. I often marvel at the way my son and husband think. Read the book and recognize the awesome gifts your daughter can bring and focus on those things to help steer her in the right direction. Good luck k
