TMI Post But I Need Your Opinions

Okay so here's a very brief summary of my story.. I have been TTC for almost 2 years now.

I usually have a 28 day cycle and have been very regular for over a year now..

This past cycle I got what I thought was my period 2 days early, Saturday the 29th , making my cycle only 26 days long!

When I go put on a pad there was brown old looking blood (Sorry TMI).

Immediately I thought "well this is weird..." I usually get the old looking blood towards the very end of my period .

By Sunday morning (the next day) there was no more bleeding of any sort.

Monday comes which is when AF is originally due and still nothing.. And I haven't bled since..

Any ideas of what this could be? I haven't done taken the next obvious step which is a hpt because I didn't get a positive with my sonshine until I was almost 3 months.. And tbh I don't even want to get my hopes up and seem like a crazy woman to my fiancee.. The year prior to this I psyched myself out ALOT and played into every feeling I thought was me being preggo and wasn't..

Any thoughts or personal experiences would be most helpful.
