Words of advice
I'm seeing tons of ladies doing or asking about these things so I thought I'd give some advice that may help.
1) Don't test too early, it could give you a false negative and bum you out.
2) On a test with blue dye faint lines almost always show up, don't trust them unless they are obviously positive. Pink dyes are they way to go and there are ones that cost less than $1 at Walmart and the dollar store that are just as accurate as brand name tests.
3) Stop opening your tests, once air hits the strip it can interact with the dye and cause something to show up that shouldn't. If you open it, it's invalid. If you open a digital test they will always have multiple lines pregnant or not. Also read your test results before 10 minutes, anything after that is invalid.
4) opk's are positive when the test line is as dark or darker than the control line. That being said it doesn't hurt to start to BD when you see its getting close to positive, sperm can survive in you for a couple of days. You want them in there to meet that egg when it comes!
Hopefully this is some helpful information for those who are new to ttc or ladies that just didn't know. Baby dust all around!
