Not necessarily. New studies have shown that if you get pregnant within 3 months of having a miscarriage you are more likely to carry to term than if you waited 6 months to a year. Sometimes having a miscarriage is just a fluke in the system and you will never have any more and sometimes women have them one right after another. The rate of miscarriage in the early weeks is super high and I believe 1 in 5 will have one. But the percentage goes down after you see a heartbeat on an ultrasound.

I had one in December and another in May. Someone we know had 5 before finally having her 3 children. It's rare to have so many I guess but nothing truly makes you "out of the woods" at any stage. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Everything I've heard says chance of mc is 1 in 5 (20%) stays the same after one loss. If you have 3 it raises your chances. Probably because if you have recurrent miscarriages there's more likely to be an underlying reason. I'd talk to your Dr and see if there are any tests they're willing to run. I know they won't after 1. I believe it's around 70% of women who have a miscarriage will go on to have a healthy baby.

I had one in May at 4-5 weeks and my next cycle I got pregnant again and miscarried at 7weeks. The second one was a surprise pregnancy for sure. But with how much of a mental toll we are going to wait a few months before trying.
