Small town?

What do you consider a small town? What about large town? I obviously know it's going to be different for everyone but curious to see what everyone says.

I think a small town is anything under 2000 people. I grew up in a town of 98 people haha. The nearest grocery store was 45 minutes away. Nearest gas station was 20.

I currently live in a town of 10,000 and it seems huge to me but I hear people call it a "small town", and I laugh.

I guess it depends on where you live. In Massachusetts, anything under 10,000 would be a small town/city (up here town or city are defined by having a council or mayor) and there's not too many of those up here.

I think small town is anything below 1,000. I grew up in a town of 600. Anything more than 1,000 and it's a small city to city.

6 years ago I went from a city of 100K to a town of 4K it was a culture shock for sure. Now we're back in the city of 100K and we like it a lot better because everything we need is in the city.

Would I live in a town like that again? Not unless it was less then an hour out of a bigger city. Driving 1.5 hours to get to the city was bad enough in the winter on a highway.

Well I live in Maine😂 So when you get further up north, towns can be super small to the point where there are miles of forest in between each house, but go further south and you have bunches of people on the beaches and shopping areas. I personally live in between the two in a city of 32,673, but I know that cities like Allagash and Sebec have around 240 and 630 people. I would consider Portland to be a large town and they have a population of 66,000.

I consider a small town 10,000 and less I live in the suburbs and my city has around 92,000 people in it. I consider it large, but not as large as the city its next too. I go to school in a town with about 20,000 with students there. It's so small. We have a grocery store, Walmart, some fast food, and gas stations. We drive about 45 minutes to a mall. Where my boyfriend hometown has only 2000. Other towns around there are even smaller. So I guess I have a lot of different definitions of small lol.

I think under 20k is a small town because I live in a town with 15k and I literally know everyone and everyone knows everyone's business and I can't go to the store without makeup without running into 8 different people who want to talk for an hour.
