He said "I love you"

So my "go to guy" for the past three years told me he loved me and it really threw me off gaurd. We havent ever truly dated becuase we have been living 5 hours appart for the past 2 years. But we hookup often everytime he is back in the area. Last night we hooked up again while we were both slightly intoxicated. He kept telling me how much he missed me and eventually when we were laying next to each other he told me he loved me before kissing me again he said it a total of 5 time that night each time with increasing sobriety. (They were also not while we were actually having sex but inbetween) i dont know if i should believe him or not since we had been a little drunk

Update:its been two days and he hasnt spoken to me, should i call him? Or should I wait?
