Can maca delay a period???
Husband and I have been taking maca. I'm very lucky in that my cycles are EXTREMELY predictable. If AF doesn't show on CD27, she'll ALWAYS show on the morning of CD28. It's either one or the other & it's been that way for a LONG time. Yesterday was CD27, & I'm kinda antsy to get this cycle over and done with, so was hoping she'd show. By the evening, when she STILL wasn't here, I did the one thing that gets it going every time... Was intimate with my husband! This will usually AT LEAST cause spotting, if not my full flow to start. NOTHING. So I figured she'd be here by morning. She's still a no show though and I'm just wondering what gives?! We've been ttc OVER 2 years now, and by no means am I even entertaining the thought that I could be pregnant. If we were gonna have a baby, it would've happened LONG before now, and I've pretty much accepted it's just not in the stars for us. The only thing I can think that's different that might have caused this slight delay (as I'm sure she's coming) is the fact I've been taking maca. I know maca can help regulate hormones, so I'm wondering if anyone has ever experienced a delay in menstruation while taking it?? From what I've read, it's pretty dang safe & usually won't cause side effects (aside from possible tummy upset, which never happened for me), so I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed a change in their cycle while taking it? It's just weird because I know my cycle so damn well, she should've arrived by now, and I can't think of any other reason for the delay. Of course I'd be ECSTATIC if we were FINALLY pregnant, but after 2+ years of trying and a known sperm "issue", I'm past thinking pregnancy has ANYTHING to do with this delay. I just want my period to start now so I'm not on my next period during a vacay we're taking next month! Is it possible my urgency to get it over and done with caused the delay? I know "stress" can affect it too, and although I'm not "stressed" per say, I AM feeling pretty impatient for it to start already! I know this is a silly and long winded question, but if anyone could offer insight (especially if you have or are taking maca and possibly experienced a change in your cycle), it'd be greatly appreciated! Thank you ladies!!
