It's actually not uncommon for biological relatives to experience sexual attraction to each other if they don't meet until after they're both done with puberty. When we are children and growing up with our parents, it is learned very early on that our parental relations are purely platonic, which creates a taboo around the possibility and then becomes uncomfortable for us to even think about. But that never happened for this woman and her son since he was adopted and didn't grow up with her as his mother. I'm not defending it at all, but there is a psychological explanation.
