What does a membrane sweep feel like?

Doctor suggested one for me at 38 weeks, I'm just wondering what it feels like!

Not gonna lie it hurts. Not like needs pain relief hurts, but it's terribly uncomfortable.

I had it done and went into labor within two hours. It hurt but it wasn't awful. It was nothing compared to labor contractions!

Some pain for like maybe a minute then cramping afterward. Depends on how well the doc does it. Seems like male docs get in there and really loosen things up where as the female docs (in my experiences) may know how it feels so they are a lil more reserved. I had it done 2 times during my last pregnancy and the male was the last one to give it a try. Done the trick. Was in active labor within the hour. Also depends on how well your body is prepared to labor.

I had two done. The first one was painful but quick and Tylenol took care of it. The second one, at 39 weeks, was excruciating. I arched up off the table. I bled a lot and......nothing happened. Baby was still a week late. 😒

Waste of time if you ask me. Won't be doing it this time around.

When I had mine done I literally felt nothing. My Dr was amazing though, with 20 years experience. Checking of the cervix is another story though lol

I just wanna know what it feels like. I've never had an entire hand up me before. Shit even sex hurts sometimes. I want to do what the doc suggests but I'm scared of the pain

It hurts, but not for a really long time or anything. I'd say 30 seconds to a minute if I remember correctly. And then afterwards you're just very crampy. (And contractions might start if your body responds to it)
