How did people tell their parents?

We're going to wait to tell everyone until 12 weeks but we want to tell our parents that they're going to be grandparents next week, how did everyone do it? I don't really just want to tell them, I'd rather something more special so need inspiration!! Thanks!

I gave my mom this card

My mom called it the day before.  And the next day I just looked at her and we both started crying! And for my mother in law we got a heart shape box of chocolates and the card read " your first grandbabys heart started beating this week. You're going to be a nana!" And we got her reaction on video it was great! For my father in law we got a "birthday present " or so he though. It was a tshirt that said " the greatest dads get promoted to grandpa" :)

I called my mum because she was looking after my nan in a different state she was dying of cancer; it was actually really special for me even though it was over the phone because my nan got to find out she was having her first great grandchild (she passed away 5 days later) and told my dad and little brother together when we had a get together and both were crying! (My brother is 9 years old) make it how you want, they will be ecstatic either way!

I bought some Bernstein Bears and Little Critters books that focus on the grandparents. We're giving them to my dad in a couple of weeks for his birthday ❤

I told my mom right away, nothing special about it. My dad got a phone call. I told my grandma & brother in person. And my boyfriends parents got a "gift" when we visited them.. They live 1400 miles away. I made a onesie that said "guess what?" and wrapped it for his mom to open & another that said "baby Roche" for his dad to open. They were so shocked and his momma cried . lol it was the cutest thing ever.

I arrived in town for my sisters wedding and when I walked in and saw my mom I just said "hey Memere"(that's what we call our grandma)

It took her a few seconds to understand and then she started jumping up and down and screaming.

My parents watch our 2 year old daughter a few days a week while we are at work. Whenever my mom sees her she always makes a comment on how cute her outfit is. So I sent her with a shirt that says "promoted to big sister" and called my mom and just casually chatted until she noticed the shirt :) it was special for us!
