Adoption?

Has anyone adopted and could share how to get started, what all it took, around how much money it took, or really any info at all? 
I really would like to adopt after our first and i want to make sure its road we r ready to go down! (Ik it will b worth everything)

I am a foster care adoption specialist in Michigan. You can adopt without fostering but it is a little more different process, fostering allows a smoother transition. It does not cost anything to adopt from the foster care system but there are several steps you have to take. You begin with orientation and  trainings. Once you complete the trainings you are assigned a case worker who does the home study and collect the documentation to write a family assessment. The process usually takes 6-8 months start to finish but can take longer if you're not matched with a child (that's a whole extensive topic in itself) any child in the state of Michigan that is not matched with a family is listed on mare.org

In my state I think the law is married and over 25 🤔  not much help but that's all I've got. You should be able to search up your state or (country if you're not in US) laws on adoption and there should be some answers there.

I read once that some states go by income and other go by what you looking for as far as age, race, gender...ect.....Which is so wrong. You going to just have to do research because every state and country varies. Good luck on your journey

In most states (maybe all not sure) you have to take some classes before you can apply for adoption maybe google it or even call your local social services office and find out the specific names of the classes you need to take. I'm not sure about cost yet (we're wanting to buy a home before we officially start the process) but I was told it's about $40,000 all together (different states might be priced differently) I was also told it's cheaper to foster for a year then adopting but it's up to you and your financial situation and personal preference I'm sorry I don't have anymore information but like I said if you call social services they can give you detailed info according to your state and or country ❤️ good luck Hun! ❤️❤️
