Question

What Happens Right after you give birth?  As soon as the baby comes out? If you can please explain in detail.

I had a water birth, when he was delivered he was on my chest for around 10 minutes. They then cut the cord and he was passed to his dad while I climbed out of the pool. Once out of the pool I had an injection in my thigh to encourage the placenta to come out, I stood up and pushed out the placenta. I then lay on the bed and gave baby his first feed. He was then weighed whilst I had a shower. 4 hours later we was at home and I was eating pizza on the couch 😂

It was kind of a blur, but you should get skin to skin with your baby for a while as well as nursing. Your doctor will stitch you up during this time if you tore and then the baby gets whisked away for some quick tests, a bath, and such (my hubs was with our son for that part). Then baby is back in your arms and you get moved to your recovery room.

After she came out the took her cleaned her and gave her to Dady while doc stitched me up. I then ate a half sheet of pizza my self

It depends on the type of birth you have. For me my son was put on my stomach and dried off. Then he was snatched away and weighed and I don't really know what else I couldn't see and the dr was busy with me pulling out pieces of my  placenta which broke inside of me. So after the birth I was still in pain his arm was all the way up me lol and that caused extra contractions not to mention I was cut open down there so ouch I was not happy! Lol failed epidural. Then he stitched me up. And they gave me back my baby to hold. Then took him and put him in a baby bed and took us both to our room.

My daughter they put her on my chest and cleaned her off, cut the cord, delivered the placenta and stitched me back up. The one thing that caught me off guard was the fact once my daughter was born I started shivering really bad. The doctor told me it was normal. But it all happened so quick for me.

For me, they put my daughter right on my chest for kangaroo care. They cleaned her off right there and rubbed her back with a towel to stimulate her to cry. They used a bulb syringe and cleared out her airways. The placenta came out and my midwife held the cord for my husband to cut. I tore, so my midwufe stitched me up. Then we did skin to skin for about half an hour. They gave her a sponge bath in my room after that and I stayed in the same room my whole stay. It was pretty great

I had too much blood loss so I had a few midwifes rushed in to assess me. In the first few minutes I done skin to skin and then she was handed to my fiancé. I then needed to be stitched.. I had 3rd degree tears and tears inside too, they got a surgeon to come in to do the stitching which I waited 15 mins for her to come but the whole time I felt like I was passing out from the blood loss! It took 45 mins to be stitched up and it's the worst pain I've ever endured (didn't have meds throughout labour and had a natural vaginal delivery) it was 10x more painful then delivering my baby, I gripped my mums hand so hard! So glad she was there. After this my baby was cleaned up and weighed, basic testing was done to make sure she was ok. We then got taken to a recovery room and she slept on me. Once our papers were filled out and all checks on both of us were complete we we're free to go. Going for a week after delivery was also very painful- stung like hell! I must add that I did enjoy my labour.. It was a great experience and so glad I managed to do it without meds. Good luck!! X
