Hcg level???

Hi Everyone! I just came from my doctor and I got bad news. My hcg was 56 at 4 weeks and a week later it is still just 66. I am devastated. I didn't have bleeding or cramps. I will have to retake the test next week and we will see. My doctor said that it can be a mistake but I just can't stop thinking that the baby is dead and I can't stop crying. Did something like this happen to anyone of you before? Thanks!

I had a similar situation in April. I had a positive pregnancy test in February, but just before my 6 week appointment, I had some spotting. They did an ultrasound and I had an empty gestational sac. They thought maybe I wasn't as far along as I thought, so they tracked my hcg levels. The levels were higher, but didn't rise as much as my Dr. Would have liked. I had a miscarriage in April. I've had bad days with depression, but I try to stay as positive as I can

Update: I went to the Emergency that night, bc I wanted to know what was happenning (either a miscarriage or an ectopic). They did an ultrasound and saw nothing. My beta level further decreased so they said we had to wait how it goes, but it seemed to be a miscarriage. I started bleeding the next day. I am a bit concerned, bc the first day it was very heavy, but just spotting since. I will have to do another blood test on Monday and I will see my doctor on Tuesday. I continuesly cried for 2 days, but it is getting better. I can't stop thinking why this happened to us. I want to make sure that this won't happen again. I know, it's silly...and this is the worst part, that I can't control this. I try to be positive, though. My husband is great, he was so supportive and caring. We decided to wait one month before ttc again to make sure that my body heals. My biggest fear is that I won't be able to feel happy when I realize that I am pregnant next time and that I will prepare for the worst and stress out completely.

Yes , I have had it happen to me too and I believe I'm currently going through it now. All you can do is stay positive and you never know your numbers could go up. Best of luck to you !

Unfortunately this has happened to me. Come to find out I was having an ectopic pregnancy. My levels just wasn't going up past 86. I hope this isn't the case for you. Good luck and I'll say a prayer for you.
