Folic acid supplements
I bought flinstone gummies because I can't stomach prenatals, but noticed they only have 200mcg of folic acid each. I normally take 2, making it 400 mcg. But I understand the recommended dosage/day is 800-1000mcg so I went ahead and bought a 400mcg supplement of folic acid to compensate. As I was about to take one i noticed the bottle says pregnant women should consult a doctor before taking it. Is this just a regulatory routine on all supplements? Or should I really contact my OB?
