EPO (Evening Primrose Oil)

I'm 38+4 Weeks Pregnant. 50% effaced, not dilated at all. I was wondering about the vaginal EPO trick but wanted to know if it worked for anyone else and how to insert them. More or less, do you have to poke a hole in them before inserting? Any bad stories about EPO? Any good stories about EPO? I also read it helps with preventing tearing or episiotomy if rubbed on perineum. Anyone did this?
