How real is nesting? 🍼

Question

For those of you who have had children already, did you get a burst of energy close to when you gave birth?

Just curious, as I am 37w3d and I have had far more energy in the last 4-5days than I have had throughout my whole pregnancy. People keep telling me it might be a sign that she is coming soon.

I really want one of you nesting ladies to come to my house. 
A number of times I have responded on nesting posts and I'm still open to offers 😀😀
I moved house in May and I really have no motivation to finish off the house. 
Nesting is not happening to me and I'm running out of time.

I ate a whole pizza.  Then cleaned my entire house. Walked laps around my house (it was snowing) because i felt like walking. Then sat down timed more contractions.. I had been in pre labor for a week.. They werebt growing in intensity.. So i took a tylenol pm slept all night and woke up with my water broke.

It's real. I got it with my first child and cleaned up ALOT. I need to get that burst now so I can tidy up the house some more and do more laundry

I swear it's psychological. I'm too tired to do anything but then I think about what needs to be done & I convince myself I have the energy to do it. That's how I feel anyway! But alas... I'm only 35 weeks, maybe I'll suddenly feel like superwoman in the next few weeks. *crosses fingers*

Just like everything, it depends on the person.
For me, I had little waves of energy for a couple of days at a time in the weeks before labour, but the day before labour I had a massive burst. It only lasted one day, and I woke up with the urge to bleach my whole apartment. I literally washed clean dishes from the cupboards. It was ridiculous. I washed my last dish at 12:30 and went right to bed, and then woke up at 2:35 in active labour with contractions already less than 5 minutes apart. I hadn't even had any prelabour contractions or anything. For me, nesting was only really one intense day.

I was super lazy my whole first pregnancy and then at 28 weeks I all of a sudden freaked out that I didn't have anything ready for the baby and I started washing things and doing whatever I could. The next day I lost my mucus plug and was 3cm by the time I went into the hospital for them to try and stop labor. I had my son at 29weeks. 2lbs 11oz. He's 13 years old now and doing great!

With this pregnancy I've had little bursts of energy to clean here and there and I haven't been super tired like I was with my first.

It is absolutely real. This is my 3rd baby first girl and I've noticed the burst of energy come between 37 weeks to 40 weeks in my case all three times.

For me its mental more than physical, with my first I was completely prepared by 38 weeks, this time I am hoping to do the same. I have sooo much I want to do, and every time I can check something off that list I feel good and more prepared for baby, but I definitely feel exhausted most of the time still, I just try to keep moving!

During the middle I had far more nesting needs than now but i still get random bursts of "I need to make sure it's ready! Lemme triple check everything!" 
More often than not mine was anxiety at 2-3 am... I rearranged my room 3 times. It is real and I doubted it but I know better than to doubt ever again xD
