Pityriasis Rosea and pregnant. Anyone?

I have been to several doctors. I have yet to find a doc with experience on pregnant women and PR. I would love to find some friends who can shed some light and advice! I am 9 w 4d and have had PR since the beginning probably.

I had it just as I fell pregnant. It's the third time I've had it and it was really bad this time - I had just come off antibiotics and then fell pregnant about a week after that so I assume it was worse because my body had so much going on! Given there's nothing you can really do to make it go away, I don't think it would be dangerous. I had a mild steroid cream I used for really itchy spots but I stopped using it once I knew i was pregnant. Just avoid any harsh soaps or moisturizers and it should resolve itself (it can take up to 3 months though unfortunately!)

It is considered a rash from the herpes family, I would ask a doctor for valtrex or another herpes medication. I took valtrex when I had it and it began getting better in a matter of days! I went back to my doctor and asked her if she knew it was a herpes rash and why she didn't suggest this as treatment, she didn't seem to know. I'm not sure a lot of doctors do.
