Pregnancy---> Earring allergy???

Before I found out I was pregnant (back in early March) my ear piercings- which have not bothered me whatsoever in the last 15 years- became infected and I had to remove my earrings. They healed up, but ever since then, no matter what type of earrings I try to wear, my piercing holes itch terribly and my lobes swell up. It's so frustrating because I have a collection of earrings I LOVE wearing but I've had to go with naked ears for the last 5 months. Has anyone ever had anything weird like this happen during pregnancy??
