Exclusively pumping..help?

Question

Unforeseen illness has caused me to become an exclusive pumper..need some guidance. How are you all doing this in addition to feeding, changing, soothing, cooking, cleaning etc.? Are you on a strict schedule?I really want to make this work. Can no longer have her at breast,  but I am able to express milk for her. Feeling discouraged. It is very sudden. Missing nursing time with her.

I'm sorry :( I started out pumping exclusively at about 2 months old. I pumped every 2 hours and I was strict about it. My son is now 6 months old and I pump about every 5 hours. It was a huge pain at first, but I realized that I could pump on the bed, floor,etc. while also feeding or playing with my baby. I use the boppy a lot to cradle him. I use the hands free pumping bra and I'm able to give my baby a bottle while I feed him. I like doing that because it makes me feel closer to him and when he was younger I'd let him lean against me while In his boppy, I'd pump on the couch and I swear it made my milk come out faster! Now, in the morning I have him in his high chair and I pump, while eating my breakfast and feeding him his. It took a while to get here because it is awkward and different at first...the tubes in the way, the baby is flopping over, you're stuck, but now it's easy and I know you'll get the hang of it! I try to pump every 2 1/2 to 3 hrs. It really is a pain. But as long as you think of you baby you will get through it. It's hard specially when you're alone because if the baby cries and you're like me, you're gonna pick them up as soon as possible. And I know they say to pump when they're sleeping but that's such a short window when you have a whole bunch of other things to do. So I hold her and just pump one boob at a time. Plus I've read that holding them helps the milk supply because of the skin contact . Hang in there , we're here for you!
