Baby too big already: ill be exactly 37 weeks tommorow, during last checkup last week our son weighed in at 7lbs,7oz already! Would they induce me to orevent c section due to his size? I want a natural birth but if he gets much bigger.....

I'm terrified of a c section but if he is too big to deliver naturally I won't have a choice! Please comment your experiences.

No and 7-7 isn't big. I always measured 3 weeks ahead Drs told me baby was over 9lbs at 37 weeks. She even felt heavier than her 3 bros weighing in at 8-7, 8-11, and 8-14. Surprise surprise she weighed 6lbs 9oz.

I was told my son weighed 9lbs 8oz by an ultrasound and that was 37-38 area, my son only weighed 7lbs 4oz and I did it naturally, so the ultrasound weighs are not accurate. And being induced can actually make it harder and more likely that it will end in a c-section. You should watch "the business of being born" I think it's still on Netflix but it explains everything wonderfully.

My husband weighed about 13lbs at birth- and that was actually after they let him go past his due date so he would start to lose some weight vs inducing early.
However- this was in Japan (dad is military but was a Japanese hospital not a military one) 20+ years ago, so I'm not sure what the current protocol is.   
Have you asked your doctor about it? Different docs do have different opinions, so your may feel strongly one way or another. Don't be afraid to let them know what your preference is.

My baby weighed over 7lbs at 34 + 4 and I am currently 39 + 4 and plan to have him naturally. Women have big babies all the time. Also their measurements are quite often wrong.
