Malignant Melanoma Help

Becky

Hi. I haven't posted on here before but I'm looking for advice and support or similar stories. I'm 36w with my first baby boy and just found out I have a malignant melanoma on my leg.

It started out as a small pink bubble at the end of June and tripled in size and turned black before I could see a dermatologist 2 weeks ago to have it biopsied. I got the results back on Tuesday that is was a malignant melanoma. I've never had issues with my skin like this before. My ob doesn't think there's any connection with pregnancy causing skin cancer but I heard from a family member that it does happen, she had a friend that developed 2 cancerous moles out of nowhere while pregnant. Her baby was fine and all the cancerous cells were removed. I'm hoping that will be the case for me too. I don't know yet if anything had spread elsewhere, but my ob also said it is very very rare that it is spread through the placenta, so I'm less worried about baby. I'm still scared though, I just don't know enough about skin cancer. Especially in this type of situation. I wear sunscreen every day and have been especially cautious about being in the sun this year. I don't know enough about it and am trying to avoid Google researching lol..don't want to read something which may not be true or relative to me and freak out over nothing.

If any of you mommas have had something similar while pregnant or not I'd love to see your stories. If not, prayers and positive vibes would be greatly appreciated 💕

And thanks for taking the time to read my post
