Fleas and pregnancy?

Before I got pregnant my boyfriend had two cats and four dogs. They mostly stay downstairs at our house till the cat had 6 kittens. His mother took the grown male cat but now we have 11 animals in total and the kittens are still a few weeks shy of being able to give away. Our house is INFESTED with fleas. Literally just laying in my bed and I can feel like all over me. My boyfriend and I gave the dogs flea medicine and have been bathing the cats but they won't go away. The animals are all now quarantined downstairs but how do I get these fleas to go away?! We don't want to flea bomb because I'm pregnant and I know that won't even work. I'm sick and tired of constantly having fleas all over me! I'm at the point I want to move out and leave him here until he figures something out because I want to give away all the dogs and cats! I'm pissed! And he nor his mother who started the flea problem know what to do and only put in a half ass effort to rid the house of them.

Ugh....why were the cats left intact to breed?? There's a massive overpopulation problem and things like this are unacceptable. Look into diatomaceous earth if you want to get rid of fleas naturally.

I feel your pain hun. When I was 7 months pregnant with my 2nd my brothers rescued a cat and brought it to me, begged me to take him in so I did. He was a kitten and covered in fleas. I did the dawn soap thing because I didn't know his age and didn't want to accidently poison him with a flea dip. Needles to say he gave it to our other cat we had a major problem. I too quarantined the cats to the lower level of the house where there was no carpet. We managed to keep them out of the area we slept but it was bad I had a one year old and a baby soon to arrive I was freaking out. I ended up spending all kinds of money on flea treatments that were less invasive because of the kids it was a waste of money and didn't work. I finally came up with a plan that did and within 24 hrs had my house flea free this is what you must do. First a bomb is the only way to clear the house sad but true. The bomb will do the house but the cats must be done at the same time.  So on the day we bombed we took the cats to the vet and got them the flea pill. It kills all fleas on the cat in 24 hrs. These 2 things MUST be done on the same day and I promise you will be flea free in no time and have your sanity back. The flea pill is 20 bucks a pill. The only problem you may have is the kittens if under six weeks can have nob treatment except a dawn bath but double check with the vet. Hope this helped it will work the bomb will get the house the pill the cats  it's the only way short of setting the house on fire even moving would only bring them with you.

Flea bombs may honestly be your only option at this point if you're dealing with an infestation. As long as you guys are out of the house and take your animals with you for the recommended amount of time, it won't affect you. Pregnant or not. We had to use them in my boyfriend's condo when we rescued two kittens because they were covered in them and it was the only thing that worked.

We had really bad fleas just from our dog going outside. We ended up getting a heat treatment and bathing our pets as well as flea collars. Leaving diatomaceous earth on your carpet for a minimum of a couple hours and then vacuuming it helps. To get them and the eggs out the carpet, you need to vacuum a LOT, like 2x/day and put some diatomaceous earth in your vacuum canister/bag. Be careful using DE because of the dust though. Also, you can dust the animals in it to help get rid of the fleas on them but make sure they're dry when you do so. Apple cider vinegar in their water works too (just a tablespoon or two) as well as diluting it and putting it on the nape of their necks. Another thing that really helps is Capstar tablets. They're expensive ($35 for a pack of six) but it kills 95% of fleas on the animals in just a couple hours. You can get them at Petsmart or Petco. Diatomaceous Earth can be ordered on Amazon for $20 for a 10lb bag or certain health stores sell it but make sure you get the food grade

You will have to bomb the house, especially if you have carpet or cloth furniture. Get the flea powder for the furniture. Get them flea meds/bath and if they go outside you will have to do the yard too! Fleas are very hard to get rid of once you have an infestation. They can end up in the drywall of the home and it can cause serious repairs!!

I didn't have a problem with fleas but I had a problem with bed bugs a few weeks ago! I was getting bit all over every night! It was horrible. Finally I gave in and paid to have an exterminator come in... Expensive... But well worth it. Haven't gotten bit in a couple days but still need to wait 30 days for the problem to be addressed. You're going to have to wash and dry all bedding/clothes in hot water and dry on super hot and put everything in bags once clean. I would seriously suggest getting an exterminator out

I've heard to put salt in carpets and furniture and mattresses and leave in for 12-24 hours then vacuum and steam your carpets and upholstery and repeat 2 or 3 times for a natural way. They also have the flea pills now which I think are more effective then the drops (for dogs anyways, I don't know about cats). I've also seen on Pinterest about homemade flea traps with a night light and a bowl of soapy water or something?

If you have carpet you have to treat it or they will hide there and lay eggs. The eggs will survive the flee bomb. Sorry I know how you feel. I was so irritated they were in my privates and everything.

I used borax everywhere nooks and all, pour that stuff everywhere let it sit for at least a day or two and just repeat it every 4 days. They should go away it happened to me last summer and I still put borax behind the couches and even in the couch cushions if possible.eveb under the bed and wash the animals with blue dawn soap.i used the detergent borax you can get it at the dollar store.and it's cheap
