Helmet baby

For those of you who have/have had a child in a helmet, how in the world do you handle people and their negative comments and stares??? I try not to take baby out in public much because people are just rude and I can't hold my tongue too well! I didn't choose to put my baby in a helmet, it is medically necessary and people that wanna stare and say things under their breathe really are just driving me up the wall! I'm at my wits end with it! People act like they've never seen a baby in a helmet!
