What's it's like to have a coil?

Currently on a waiting list to have the coil put in? Just wondering if it hurts when it's put in?is it an easy/quick process? I'm currently on the contraceptive pill and been advised to go on the coil as it's beneficial and I have problems with the pill there suppose to help my periods but don't. just wondering if anyone my age 20 or older has ever had the coil put in? Could you help me? My anxiety a bit anxious about the whole thing.
