Fibroids & cysts

Hey everyone! I'm currently in the TWW we've been TTC for a few months now. I had a weird couple of months with my periods where it came way too early & I spotted in between periods which was EXTREMELY abnormal for me. I'm not on birth control or anything for years. So I went in to discuss with my doctor & she has already taken blood for testing my thyroid & hormone levels & I'm scheduled for an ultrasound on the 31st to rule out cysts or fibroids. Has anyone ever had a similar experience & if I have a cyst or fibroids what is the process of removing them & does it hurt?
