I have a questiony.. Is it right that my SO is asking me for money to pay for the down payment of the new apartment we are getting? Keep in ming he gets paid every week around $800 and we got a move in date for Sep since July.. Also right now i have not been working well so i have not seen a paycheck in almost a month. I need your honest answers please, thank you

You must be getting some type of money that he would ask u to help with the down payment, i dont see a problem with being a team and both helping to get this apartment, if it was me and my husband and he asked me here u go with no questions if ands or buts cuz thats my place too not only his

If you are going to be living there too then there's no reason why you shouldn't help to pay for the expenses!

If you're going to be living there with him and you're on the lease, I don't see the problem. BUT id have to know why he doesn't have the money. If it's been in the plan since June, what did he do that he doesn't have the money?  Also, are you expected to pay rent that first month?.....just wondering if he's going to pay you back. I'd be wondering if he can afford to move and how often you'll be expected to pay his portion.

If you're getting it together then you should be paying for some of it. I mean I love with my bf but he had the house before we got together so he doesn't make or really want me to pay for the house bills, but he wants me to help with other things which is only fair since I do live here now to. It's just something you two have to sit down and talk about. How and what bills you're going to pay or split.

Honestly?  This is between the two of you... but you should definitely have a clear well structured conversation with notes about how you two are going to comfortably handle all upcoming categories of expenses, and shared vs. Personal money.
