The second they put the needle in it was instant relief. Just the pressure of the needle made the pain so much more bearable.

By the time you are having contractions you will be begging for it lol nothing hurts like a contraction.  I was worried it would hurt too but it is a God send!!!

They put it in during a contraction but my shaking was so uncontrollable I was more focused on staying still. They numb the area first and then put it in. I yelled and told her it felt like she was stabbing me in the kidney; for some reason it was incredibly painful on my right side. It was definitey WAY less painful than contractions. I felt better before I even laid back down and a few minutes later I could finally crack jokes again. I would gladly do it again. I stopped pumping the meds as I neared the end of my labor and had no trouble feeling to push.

Both of mine killed while getting them. With my second she missed twice before finally getting it in. It felt amazing once she was done. I don't plan on getting one this time around. I know I can go natural

I remember it felt like the anesthesiologist was sticking his thumb up my spine. It's a really big needle too. I had adverse effects and don't remember much after that.
