What is the difference between dollar store pregnancy tests and the clear blue ones ? Can one really tell 5 days prior to period ? Or is it a hoax

I've never had a problem with the dollar tree/dollar general ones. The clear blue digital ones require more HCG so just a warning on that one.

I had negatives until the day before my period...

I tried using the easy @ home tests i got with the opks from amazon. Kept getting negatives. Tried First response, the one 6 days before period and got a very clear postitive, it was exactly 6 days before. Kept testing with the cheapos for the next few days. It took 3 days longer for it to show up on the cheap ones. Go with the more expensive ones if you can, you get a much faster response!!

I think some of the more pricey ones can detect earlier but if you are at your missed period day or a couple days after I don't think there's much difference at all. I work in a lab at a hospital and we just have manual tests, I bet they're the same as dollar store ones lol!

Everyone has told me to start with a couple dollar store/cheapy Walmart tests (88 cents each) and then splurge on a nice ClearBlue once I get a positive just to feel great about seeing the word "pregnant". I've been told they work very well and now have a small stock of both.

What's the difference ?
