Septum piercings

Mariella • I'm hungry
So I turned 18 on August 12 and my little sister paid for me to get my septum pierced as a birthday present. (The piercing is in the picture obviously.) Even though I'm 18 I still live at home and I'm about to start my senior year in high school. I waited about a week to tell my dad and he was pissed but not as mad as I thought he'd be. When I told him, the only thing he asked me to do was tell my mother. My mother likes to say that she's really liberal and excepting but she's always hated any kind of tattoo or piercing. So I went ahead and told her and now she's literally giving me the silent treatment. It's been going on since Monday and it's now Friday. Anytime she has a problem with me she sends my dad to talk to me. It's making me crazy. I posted a picture of it on Instagram and she saw it and made my dad tell me to delete it. She's taking it so personally. My dad says she thinks that I did it just to upset her. It literally has nothing to do with her.
Is it normal for a 45 year old woman to act like this? Did I really do something that horrible?
