Baby shower help

We are a new military family who moved to Tennessee roughly 14-17 hours away from everyone we know. We have been trying to have a baby since January and we finally got pregnant. I figured that we wouldn't have a baby shower because of where we are, but my sister suggested an online baby shower using our webcam. I've never heard of that and kind of feel like that would just be asking people for gifts without offering anything in return. But her suggested got me thinking if there were any other options other than doing it back home. Any suggestions or thoughts of an online baby shower? Because I can't think of anything lol.
