Birthday = No Present from BF?

Hey ladies...so I turn 21 this Saturday (woo!) and I'm leaving tomorrow (Friday night) for a weekend in Vegas (double woo!). It's going to be a girl's weekend so tonight was the last night I saw my boyfriend until I get back next week. We hung out, watched tv and ordered some food and I was waiting for him to bring out a little gift or something but the end of the night came and he said he had to go to bed for work in the morning. A little backstory, we've been dating for 5 months and have been "official" for about 2 1/2. He is also fully aware that Saturday is a milestone birthday for me. Am I justified in being a little upset that he didn't even get me a card?

It's a brand new relationship. You spent time together, had dinner, enjoyed each others company. Did you express to him that a gift is expected? Personally I think birthday gifts are for children. The only thing you can do is talk to him about it.

Hes not obligated to get you a gift just because its your birthday yes its nice but to expect one is a little over the top or maybe hes planning something for when you get back

Be clear that he did something to offend you. Obviously, don't be bitchy, but make it clear you're upset. Yes, he should have gotten you something, and I definitely know how this feels, but I'm still with my boyfriend (one year anniversary was the 20th). Also pay attention to how he reacts to your telling him this offended you. If he's a dick about it, well... I don't wanna go there.... he should be understanding. You deserve nothing short of at least an apology.
