Is rude of me not to want used baby stuff?

Ever since I announced I was pregnant people have been offering me their used baby stuff and I don't really want it. I want to get new stuff not a bunch of handy downs. I'm worried that it's not as reliable because it's used. Someone gave us a car seat, I looked it up and it's not expired but I'm worried that it may be broken or I won't use it properly because I don't have any manual. Same with a pack and play. Someone gave me their pack n play but it had stains on it. It's just seems gross to me.
