TTC newbie
About two years ago I was told that a 70lbs weight gain was due to being on the wrong BC for years, it had slowed down my metabolism and caused me to become pre-diabetic. Along with this diagnosis I was also told that I had PCOS. I was put on a different BC and told to drop some weight. I managed to lose about 20 lbs in about 3 months but I hit a wall. This was around the time that I wanted to try for a baby so I stopped BC and started researching. I stopped at the doctors and was told that everything should work smoothly but the doctor wanted to run some blood work first just to make sure everything would be fine. It took weeks for the lab work to come back and I get a call for the doc telling me that I wasn't ovulating at all and they wanted to try Clomid for 3 months. I was assigned to a high risk specialist who I actually didn't get an exam from he just handed me the prescription and told me to come back in after 3 months. 2 months of Clomid and taking ovulation tests with nothing but negatives and no luck in the baby making until the 3rd month where I started bleeding heavier that I have in my entire life. I waited a week and a half before calling the specialist to ask if I should be considered. He said no and to take ibuprofen and to relax. So I did but it seemed to be worse and I called back to find out he was on vacation and was unable to help. In a panic I contacted another doctor and quickly got in to see her. This doctor is amazing, she treated me and set me up for a boat load of tests. When I mentioned the PCOS she disagreed this the diagnosis. At this point I was devastated and depressed about being promised the world. I wanted back on BC and to go back to the way things were. And here we are two years later and I'm ready to try again.
My SO and I decided that we wanted to start TTC. I've been off birth control for about a month, I haven't had a real cycle in months so I'm kind of courious how long it usually takes to start a cycle back up again. I've been looking up various things about TTC and found this app. After about a month of lurking in the forums seeing how this community interacts with each other I've decided to seek some advice on where to start and the types of things I'll need to know/get for our journey.
