Where do I begin?

Hello ladies! 
I have PCOS & I have never had a period without birth control. I go back to the dr tomorrow to talk about trying to conceive now that I've had over 3 cycles on the birth control. My question for you ladies is, "Where do I begin?" 
My insurance doesn't cover fertility meds so it'll all be out of pocket so I'd like to try on my own first, but since I don't have a period without the birth control if I only take my metformin will I still have a period? Am I going about this wrong?
I plan on asking my dr tomorrow but would love to hear what worked for you ladies.

I don't think your going about it wrong you just need some info from your doctor.. She may start you on progesterone to get your period then clomid to ovulate.. I'm pretty sure clomid is affordable without insurance. Do some research on vitex and there's this stuff called pregnancy prep I wanna try. Vitex is supposed to help regulate you and the metformin should also help. Also Myo inositol by fair haven health is also for egg health and is supposed to regulate you.. Hasn't worked for me yet but I forget to take it a lot.. She's also gonna tell you to take Prenatals. Also from my research it looks like a lot of fertility clinics have financing programs. Keep us posted on what doc says, good luck!
