The right age for sex

So I'm 15 but I'll be 16 in October and I am about to be a sophomore this September, So I said I wanna wait till Prom night to lose my Virginity ( I'll be a Senior and 18 Years old ), My mom also told me to wait til I'm at least 18 and I told her "OK mom I'll wait" so I thought about it or what ever...but I hear that some people say "Most girls lose they virginity when they 16" and honestly I was thinking the same thing but I know my mom and dad will be very upset if they find out I'm having sex at this age and I really don't listen to what certain people tell me...So what is a good age to lose it❓
