Why does my 12 week old always stuff fingers in her mouth?

Is this a normal baby thing? She loves stuffing both hands in her mouth and sucking on them even though I've nursed her. I can't tell if she's hungry -- I don't think she is coz she's not crying she just loves eating her hands! Could she be teething or something else?

I've heard it's normal once they discover their own hands. My daughter's hands are in her mouth constantly. She'll try to shove them in her mouth while she's nursing or while she has a pacifier too.

It's just the discovery of their hands. :) when combined with major drooling and crankiness it's teething

My LO does this too! I've tried feeding him and then sure enough spit up ensues... He just loves his hands!!!

DS likes to suck on his hands too or shove a finger to the back of his throat and spit up the breast milk I spent 20 minutes pumping, because he won't latch 😭
