He talked to other girls and now we are back together. I'm trying to get past it. We fought a lot so I guess he thought there might have been something better out there, clearly there wasn't

No. People fight in relationships, you go through tough times. But You don't give up. On the other hand, there's always someone else. I'd hope if he were to die I'm not going to be alone. The point of any relationship is that it's a choice, every day. It's not that there's never someone better. It's that you don't think about it. You are deeply satisfied and fulfilled with your choice. To me if you need o break up to see what else is out there, you're not truly ready.

What happens next time he thinks there might be somebody better out there? I mean there are 7 1/2 billion people on this earth, are you sure he's not going to go testing those waters again? Personally, this would never fly with me. I did it once a very long time ago, and no it did not work out when we got back together.
