Pregnancy massage?

My husband is getting me a pregnancy massage. Are they safe? Do I need to ask my doctor first? Thanks!

I just scheduled one today! I'll be 30 weeks when I go and the spa has a special table with a hole for pregnant women that lets you lay down! Omg I am so excited!!! I asked if they need a doctors note and they said no. I see my doctor a few days before my appointment so I will double check with her, but if you're low risk/no complications it should be totally safe.

Some places require a doctor's note and won't do them til after 12 weeks. I'd call your doctor just to make sure.

Do check with your doctor, though they're generally fine unless you have a specific issue.  Tell your therapist too, they'll have you lay a little differently, may give you different cushions, and will probably turn the table warmer off (unless you get cold, I live in Florida so I was already melting for mine about two weeks ago).
