Do you think I can ovulate???

I was on the depo for 2 years, but I didn't ever get my shot like I was supposed too. I had a miscarriage when I was a junior in high school. It was very devistating for me and now husband. I have been off the shot for a year and a half. This coming March will be 2 years. Obviously my period didn't come for a while and I neve had one while I was on the shot. I had my period for 4 straight months and I thought I was good. Then one month it just didn't come, and then it did the next month. I got my period this month. Since I have irregular period can i still ovulate? I have period, I just never know when they are going to come. When should i get DR intervention?
