is this crying it out?

I'm diving to my parents' for the weekend and it's about an hour away. It's bed time for baby and I'm hoping she will just sleep in the car (which she rarely does). Often I'll sit in the back with her but I feel like that prevents her from falling asleep. Well now she is crying and I hate it so much. Is it the same as making her cry it out if I don't go back there? Im on the highway and just can't get back there right now.

No it's not the same. Crying it out it is when you are trying to sleep train your baby so you just let them cry until they sleep but on a nightly/nap time basis until they learn. Normally takes about a week i did this with my first 2 kids because people told me that's what I was suppose to do

I let mine cry in the car. She often falls asleep after 15 mins of crying.

Just keep telling her you'll come cuddle her soon, and you're sorry you can't get to her. Of course she's scared and upset. But sometimes mommy can't be there every second so she's gonna have to wait. Just as an aside, at 4 months we figured out how to breastfeed in the car seat and oh my gosh is it so

No it's not. You can't do anything unsafe. You're not letting her cry to teach her something or anything you just can't take her out of the seat :(
