eating your placenta???

Ummmm ok so I was just watching a pregnancy documentary where I watched a woman preparing her placenta for eating? I guess this is suppose to be really go for you? What is everyone's thoughts on this topic?

I definitely wouldn't eat it like that. But they can put it in little capsules you can take. It's supposedly really healthy, and that way it's tasteless and a lot less odd in my opinion xD

I'm considering that actually! It's supposed to help with PPD!

In Many cultures,  this is as normal as can be.   I personally have no desire to consume my placenta in any manner,  I'm going to plant a tree with it instead and nourish a second life.

There's zero credible science behind it. The placenta is literally a waste organ, like your colon. It filters the blood and amniotic fluid, that your baby regularly urinates in.

You dehydrate it usually and if you encapsulate it, wouldn't be so gross.

I encapsulated mine on my own. It's saved my milk supply during emergencies and also my sanity when my estrogen was raging and I couldn't stop feeling angry.

I wouldn't but it's supposed to be super good for you and your baby (when breast feeding) I hear the best way to eat it is more on the rare side

I have seen this!  Is Europe (I think is where they were) the save it for the baby's first birthday.  They fry it and serve it on crackers.
