ANYONE can relate please?

Hi ladies,

So this is the first time I post anything ever an I figured someone would be able to have an answer or similar experience so I'd give it a shot. My husband an I plan on TTC soon, possibly next month. So we had intercourse this week which was my fertile week according to this app. My fertile window started 28th I believe till yesterday the 3rd. We had intercourse 27th-31st (Sat-Tue). Highest percent rate of conception was Wed-Thurs. An come Thursday if I'm not mistaken I felt as though I was about to get a UTI. An sure enough I do. Self diagnosed lol symptoms were pretty obvious. Have been having urinary pain for about 3-4 days now. The thing is I had a UTI about 2 months ago, which really sucks. So I googled randomly can having too much intercourse cause a UTI an sure enough it can an I've seen other women say the same. So I googled safe pills to take incase "if pregnant" because I didn't want to go back to the doc an take ones that aren't as "safe" IF pregnant so I started taking AZO. Have been taking it for about 3-4 days now. Still feel slight pain here an there. An to add in there I've been on Prenatal pills for about 2wks now just to help get my body ready for when the time does come. So I guess what I'm really wondering if anyone else has gone through the same thing, OR IF you think there's any chance I could be pregnant. I researched if UTIs interfere with conception an I've gotten a whole bunch of crap but I just really want answers. PLEASE share any feedback or experiences I don't know anyone else to ask.

AZO doesn't cure the infection. You can try drinking 100% cranberry juice and taking AZO but if it doesn't clear up in a couple of days I'd go back to the doctor to get a prescription. UTIs are nothing you want to play around with. It can lead to kidney infections/failure. Good luck!

I would go to your doctor and have them give u a pregnancy-safe antibiotic. Just tell your doctor you have been ttc and want to be safe. One of my friends ignored a uti and got a bad kidney infection. I am not saying its going to happen to you- but just to be safe 😊

Exactly what the others who commented said, definitely get an antibiotic. Antibiotics are needed to get rid of infections & to prevent them from spreading &/or coming back (UTI = Urinary Tract INFECTION).

AZO has been a lifesaver for me b/c I always seem to get UTIs at night & they help to alleviate symptoms until I can get to the doctor the next day. If I take AZO for more than 3 days in a row, I actually get really sick from it.

Anyway, there are definitely safe antibiotics to take for a UTI while pregnant. I had an ongoing UTI during my pregnancy & took 3 different types of antibiotics for it, so it definitely still needs to be treated while pregnant (if not even more so b/c of possible pregnancy).

Sex is a huge factor for some people in causing UTIs. This is why it's often suggested to immediately pee after sex. It may not prevent all UTIs, but it does lessen the probability of getting one.
