Smacking
I was in Argos today waiting for my item to be ready, I was sat with my husband and our 1 year old was in the pram sleeping.
There was a guy in front of us (about 40 years old) with his little boy (around 7 years old) on his lap and his daughter next to him. All of a sudden I heard a really loud slap noise, it made me jump. The guy in front of us slapped his little boy on his legs. It made me feel sick! This little boy had done nothing wrong (from what I could see) he was just sat on his dad's lap playing with an aeroplane. They boy screamed out in obvious pain. Me and my husband looked at each other in confusion, surely we must of got it wrong?
Then, I stood up and watched as the guy slapped his son again. The slap was that loud it woke up my 1 year old. The boy cried out in pain again. It was heart breaking.
I asked why he was hitting his son like that. The man abruptly stood up and towered over me, in an obvious threatening position, and said it has nothing to do with me. My husband then stood in front of me and put the guy in his place.
He was an obvious bully!
It is sickening that people still think it's ok to hit a child. Even if the boy was doing something wrong or misbehaving, in no way shape or form should you resort to physical violence. I honestly have pity on those that do.
