I just got my period today, so I want to learn how to use tampons but I'm scared out of my marbles. What if it gets stuck? What if I faint? Am I going to die? What if I try to pull it out and the string breaks but the tampon is still in me? What if it hurts? Just inserting things in me is terrifying. This proves I'm going to be a virgin for the rest of my life with 25 dogs, 2 ducks and a cat named Garfield Winslow 😕.

Hey girl! Here's a few tips that helped me when I started using tampons
1. If you are really scared at the thought of inserting something into your vagina, it's okay to think over it longer and wait for your next period (or just stick with pads)
2. If you can, ask some female family members what it's like; their experiences are probably going to be similar to yours
3. IF the string breaks, you can easily pinch the bottom of the tampon and pull it out-- it will just be a little messier than if it didn't
4. Scared about forgetting one? Try setting a timer or alert, or ask someone you trust to remind you
5. Try wearing a panty liner with your tampon until you get a hang of what your flow will be

The first time I used one I was nervous too. You just have to relax and get the correct angle. If you think that it's stuck just angle your body and relax. You may need to get a better grip. The strings are super tough and you don't have to worry about them breaking.
