Just told by perinatologist that I have polyhydramnios, and NO bed rest? I'm an RN! anyone else?
I have been seeing the perinatologist since I was 28 weeks due to GD. I was told today that I have polyhydramnios. He told me to take it easy and stay off my feet if I can, but I work 12 hour shifts as a floor nurse and that is literally impossible. I told him that and he said i absolutely cannot continue working 12 hour days, I should try to find desk/administrative work instead. I told him that is not possible, the only thing I can do as a nurse and keep my pay (which is paying our mortgage right now) is working on the floor as I have been doing.
He said and I quote "well, just get your coworkers to help you out, maybe have them have someone follow you around and help you. I cant take you off of work for this."
WHAT??
I can't work 12 hour days, but he can't take me off work?
Now I'm terrified of going back to work and having something happen to the baby. I am terrified of going into preterm labor.
Has anyone else not been put on bed rest for polyhydramnios? I've been having frequent contractions as well lately and it just scares me. I've already called my regular OB (who I trust much more) and waiting on a call back.
