average hospital stay after birth?

Just wondering how long you moms stayed in the hospital after giving birth! I know it depends on complications & how the hospital is and whatnot. With my first I had a vaginal birth with no complications & we spent 3 nights in the hospital with baby. My mom told me that's actually a long stay and that 1 or 2 nights is more common, so I'm just curious as baby #2 is due any day now and we'll be going to a different hospital 😁

I've heard that for normal births it's one to two days and for cesarean births it's two to three days.

Might be able to find it on their website. I found all the typical lengths of stays for what situation (vaginal without neds, vaginally with meds, c-section with no complications) but you're right. They can change your stay depending on the way your birth went

My hospital has a max stay of 4 nights for normal delivery and 6 for c-section so I'll be either one of those lol last time for me it was a bit longer than 4 because they go off when Bub is born, I went in Monday morning, waters had broken and I was strep b + with my son, he wasn't born until tues morning and we went home Saturday morning.

My husband and I have taken several courses at our delivering hospital and they tell everyone to plan on being there 2-4 days.

I had a c-section and stayed 2 nights. With my first c-section I was there 4 nights. My sister had a normal vaginal delivery and left the next day.

It's a private hospital and I think I can leave earlier if I want.
