bashed for my... contraception?!

Question

So I woke up this morning and had a look at my notifications. I had participated in a poll of contraceptions and commented 'depo shot'. Due to this being my current form of birth control. I never thought I would wake up to comments bashing myself for using this contraception?! Basically saying about how I'm going to be infertile or will have to have treatments, why didn't I think about when I want kids, I've ruined my body, my bone density is gonna be ruined. Firstly it is no ones business as to why and which birth control I am on. What if I never wanted children? I do but that's besides the point. Secondly, where do you get off telling me all these things when they might not even be true. My sister concieved after 5 months off the depo shot and is back on it. It's very upsetting to read personal attacks at myself just for choosing a readily available contraception. I can't believe that on this app we've taken to bashing others for their choice of birth control. It actually upset me this morning reading all the things some members wrote and I will be doing my own (more in depth) research today. It's just so frustrating! Sorry rant over...

Because people are fucking insane and can't seem to think about their own bodies. Not your body, not your fucking business. If you want to get technical every kind of birth control is shitty for you and has health risks. Everyone's body reacts differently to different things, my mother got pregnant with twins on the depo shot. She was even told that after me she couldn't get pregnant again. She was on the shot to gain more control of her endometriosis and then bam, pregnant with two babies. 
People need to mind their own fucking business like this pisses me off. Let me find that post.

I'll admit I'm not a fan of Depo, considering all the research I have done on it.

BUT, it is your chosen birth control, and it is working for you.

Don't take it to heart love. People will bash all methods of BC, especially Depo and IUDs.

It works for you, that's all that matters. Fuck everyone else.

So this post troubles me only because I do recall commenting on one of your depo shot comments. I hope it's not me you're talking about just because I only used the information my doctor gave me and really tried not to be rude 😫 If it was me, sorry it seemed that way, I never intended to be mean, I just wanted to share the warnings my doctor gave me when I talked to her about trying depo, especially since the other girl was worried about the risks. I also tried not to direct it to anyone in particular, but if it was one of my comments I truly am sorry that you took it as bashing. 😥

Maybe people weren't bashing you, but instead they meant it as a warning/precaution.   Perhaps you're reading some of them in the wrong way.     I'm not saying NOBODY was bashing you, I'm just saying to be sure of their intentions before assuming they are bashing you on your decision.

Girl I've been on the Depo shot for Years at a time ! And I've had kids a few months after I took myself off to try and conceive... Everybody is different don't let ppl discourage you on your form of birth control.

I would never bash you for your choice in birth control. But I do agree that depo is just bad. I've heard so many stories about women who couldn't get pregnant or took them years to after being on it. I had it once, and it made my vagina basically dry up for the 3 months it worked then when I came off it I bled for a month straight, so never again for me. But it has such a bad rep I can see why so many were against it, but no one should bash you for it. You may be one of the few that haven't had a bad experience with it and it may work for you and that's great. You make your own decisions girl don't worry about any hate

Truthfully, EVERYBODY'S body is different. What works for one might not work for the other, & vice versa. So NOBODY has the right to bash ANYBODY about using a certain contraceptive. It's YOUR life & YOUR body. People in this world are just so freaking judgmental & it irks my nerves. Unfortunately, that's the day we live in. Where people have the need to ALWAYS put their 2 cents in, even when it means being rude & inconsiderate of others. You just do what you feel is best for you, Hun. It's true. Just because your sister did good on it doesn't mean you will. I've been on it a year and just recently read an article that may link the depo (and few others) to pseudotumor cerebri. Maybe you're one of those very few that doesn't get horrid symptoms. I'm personally going to warn everyone I see that's considering it, against it.
