Vitafol Ultra + 800 mcg Folic Acid?

Hellooooo ladies.

I'm 4 weeks along and my dr gave me some samples of Vitafol Ultra to try out. I've been taking Natures way prenatals with DHA which have 800 mcg folic acid.. now the vitafol has 400 and he wants me to take an 800 mcg folic acid vitamin with it... is that too much? And am I okay with just taking the ones I was before?

My dr prescribed 5,000mg for me at 4 weeks. Ive had multiple miscarriages over 15 months so it's precautionary with me. And I'm over 35. Folic acid is a B vitamin. If you have too much it will be filtered out in your pee as it is a water soluble vitamin. Would be more aware of A E D and K as they're fat soluble and can become toxic in high doses.

That's not too much. Your body will naturally release any unused vitamin through your urine. I actually take an additional 5,000mcg of folic acid bc my first had a neural tube defect
